seriously, though...
Pentagon auditors have concluded that Halliburton Co. failed to adequately account for more than $1.8 billion of work in Iraq and Kuwait, said a newspaper citing a Pentagon report. The amount is roughly half of what Halliburton's company Kellogg, Brown & Root has charged the Pentagon to house and feed the troops in Iraq. The report dated Aug. 4, is more than likely to pressure the U.S. government to withhold millions of dollars to the company, which Vice President Dick Cheney was the CEO of from 1995 through 2000. After two prior extensions, Halliburton will have until Sunday to provide cost information regarding its work in Iraq thus far. This could lead to the withholding of as much as $600 million of payments, though KBR officials are confident the Army will again extend the deadline, and the Army is considering doing so, it said. In December of 2003, Kellogg, Brown & Root filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after heavy asbestos claims. Seriously Though , considering the role that Vice President Dick Cheney has played in orchestrating this war against Iraq, it is obvious his priorities and work are vested in seeing Halliburton reap all of the oil possible in Iraq. The army has been shown heavily protecting all Halliburton's drilling sites in Iraq, probably 100 times more intensely than other sites, specifically the Abu-Ghraib prison complex. It seems to me that the "haves" have to continually outdo the "have nots" even if they're ahead.
